This is an adaptable reuse and rear extension of a typical Haberfield Federation dwelling house in a sensitive Heritage Conservation Area to become a high-quality childcare centre.

Heritage issues were paramount in the design with much effort invested by both Council and us working closely together to achieve the required level of preservation and restoration whilst creating an attractive and functional centre.

Another challenge was the very large underground on-site stormwater detention facility required by Council for environmental reasons.

The centre was designed, built and fully fitted out by us and was well received and supported by Council and the community.

It was handed over turn-key to the operator My Stepping Stones Childcare on time and on budget in 2013, has been successfully operating since that time and was acquired in 2023 by the Australian subsidiary of a large US high-quality NYSE listed childcare group.
